FoSDA’s new leadership appointments: a new era of vision

The Future of Sustainable Data Alliance (“FOSDA”), a leading voice of the sustainable data ecosystem, is announcing changes to its leadership team. The Alliance has appointed Martina Macpherson as its new chair of the board who will take this position from 31 October for a 4-month term. She will be supported by two Vice-Chairs Richard Mattison and David Harris who will play a pivotal role in guiding FoSDA towards its strategic objectives. Martina will replace Sherry Madera, who has played an instrumental role in shaping the Alliance and will take the honorary role of FoSDA’s Founder.

Founder’s Honorary Role

Ms Madera’s leadership and commitment since FoSDA’s inception in 2020 have provided the organisation with a robust foundation for growth and establishing its vision and mission. In her role as Founder, she will continue to offer guidance and valuable insights to the Alliance.

I am immensely proud of my role in founding FoSDA in 2020. The market, ecosystem and volumes of sustainability data have changed and grown since FoSDA’s founding and it is the perfect time to step back into an ever-supportive role. The organisation has a unique and valuable place in the sustainability data and analytics ecosystem. I look forward to my new role leading CDP and contributing directly and indirectly to FoSDA’s mission.” Sherry Madera

The announcement follows Sherry Madera’s recent appointment as the CEO at CDP, a global non-profit that runs the world’s environmental disclosure system for companies, cities, states and regions.

The need for comprehensive data and analysis on risks and opportunities to help market participants make informed decisions is as great as ever as is the role FoSDA plays in building on this momentum. We are delighted to congratulate Martina on her appointment as chair of FoSDA and thank Sherry for her leadership and continued commitment into the future.”

FoSDA also thanks Pietro Bertazzi, Global Director, Policy Engagement & External Affairs, CDP, who served as a FoSDA Vice-Chair till June 2023 and paved the way for many successful initiatives and partnerships.
